How to Relieve Back Pain During
Pregnancy
Pregnancy is an exciting time
full of anticipating, but you would never imagine that back pain during pregnancy could take away from the fun and
enjoyment of the process. Unfortunately back pain during pregnancy can start early on and continue to nag you
all the way through the nine months. It is important to learn ways to get more comfortable instead of suffering
through it.
Bring Back the Excitement: Goodbye Back Pain During Pregnancy
A pregnancy seems like a long
time when you are in it, but afterward it will be a moment in time that you want to be able to remember
fondling. You shouldn’t only have to look back at
months of pain and discomfort, you should look back at the excitement that lead up to the moment you met your
child, face to face, for the first time.
Don’t let back pain during
pregnancy catch you off guard. It usually comes
toward the middle or the end of pregnancy. The reason
for this is that the baby gets heavier and heavier which puts a strain on your back. The best thing you can do when you are able, is to find a chair
to sit in that will give your back a break.
If this is your first
pregnancy, you may be even more susceptible to back pain during pregnancy. The reason for this is that your body is going through changes
that it has never gone through before, and it is not fully equipped to deal with the added weight and structural
changes that naturally happen in a healthy pregnancy.
The pain is normal, but you need to relieve it to enjoy your pregnancy.
Luckily, many women find
soaking in a warm bath to be very helpful to their aching back. If you do decide to soak in a warm tub, make sure
it is a tub and not a Jacuzzi. The pulsing vibrations
in the water of a Jacuzzi have actually been known to induce early labor. Stick to a warm, not hot, bath!
Another way to help relieve
back pain is to prop yourself up with a pillow. This
gives your back more support, especially if you are sitting in an office chair that doesn’t provide much
support.
After talking with your doctor
to ensure that it is safe for you, you might want to consider taking a pregnancy fitness class or
two. This can help you build up strength in
those muscles in your back that will help to support your changing body as well as your growing
baby. Not only will this help ease your back
pain during pregnancy, it will also help to keep you in shape so you feel good about yourself after your baby
is born!
